f (sarpa S) A female Coluber or serpent: also a female snake generally. See sarpa. Ex. sarpina vita mpili nkhaya vacaliya kona maya . 2 (Because the snake is wont to dart out its tongue.) The name of a khoda or blemish of the horse,--that of putting out his tongue on taking the bit. Ex. lagama gheta njibha kadhi to sarpina. sarpina is understood by some jockeys as descriptive of the horse that has a serpentine curl or line on his coat.
