m (S) A resemblance of a real form; an image of a statue, a picture &c. 2 Hence Viceroy, vicegerent, locum-tenens; a representative or proxy; a surety or bondsman: also a succedaneum or substitute. The emblems of the pratinidhi were dona mukhavate (i.e. the bust of figure of maruti and of garuda) and dona abadagiri (i.e. two umbrellas of state).
