ind ( A) A particle and prefix of emphatic power. It implies exactness, completeness, superlativeness &c. Ex. ainunhala, ainahiṃvala, ainapavasala The very height or middle of the hot season, of the winter, of the rains; ainadona- prahara Exact noon; ainavela The very nick of time; ainasoda-lucca-labada-harami An arrant or thorough-paced scamp, rogue, liar &c.; ainabhara The spring, prime, zenith, plenitude, meridian, heyday, flush (of prosperity, health, youth, fame &c.; of products of the season; of imports &c.; as ainadaulata, ainajavani, ainaisvarya, ainamadani, ainahangama &c.); ainaghai The height of hubbub and hurry; ainamara- mari The heat of the conflict; or the thickest of the fight. 2 It is used also in the sense of Original, primary, principal: as ainakarja The original debt; the sum borrowed or lent;--as disting. from the sum increased through the accruing of interest; ainakarabhari The head (manager, minister, factor, steward &c.); ainakimata Prime cost; ainakharca Original or main cost or expenses (as of a horse, opp. to that of horse-furniture; of the articles of food at a feast, opp. to the expense of fire-works, shows &c.); ainagalla The amount of corn as determined by the survey: also the survey-assessment. ainajama or ainajamabandi The established or regular revenue; as disting. from kherijajama or kamavisajama Results from fines, presents, arbitrary exactions &c.; or The original and ordinary revenue; as disting. from increase or decrease in a particular year; ainajinnasa The products of the soil; as disting. from money.
