Meaning of 'ida'
m S A certain tubular vessel, one of the (ksvasacya nadya) channels of the Vital spirit. In the anatomy of the Yoga school are particularized three great passages of the breath and air running from Os coccygis to the head. Of these ida is the passage on the right side, proceeding through (or springing from) the nabhicakra or um- bilical region and through the nose; pingala that on the left; susumnamna ascends betwixt the two, entering into the middle of the head.
