Ex. ambe khauna paha goda lagale tara ghya; tyala bari gosta jari ṃsangitali tari ṃvaita lagati. 13 To be found or got by;--as service, employment. 14 To be related or connected generally. Ex. tujha to kaya mehuna lagato. 15 To meet, fall in the way of, come before. Ex. vatene ncara nadya lagatata; tumhi vacita ja ani pudhe ṃvrttasloka lagela tethe ntheva. 16 To bear;--as fruit-trees: also to arise upon; to be borne or produced;--fruit. Ex. tya prantace mada ase lagatata ki ṃeka eka madavara hajara hajara narala lagatata. 17 To be corrupted, tainted, corroded, dirtied; to be affected with a blemish or damage;--a thing in general. 18 To stick or adhere to. 19 To bite or sting;--as snakes, scorpions, pungent substances. 20 To fall upon;--blight or mildew: also to be affected with blight;--a plant. 21 To act or take effect upon; to operate or work upon hurtfully or disagreeably;--as intoxieating or narcotic substances, bad air or water, fasting, angry imprecations &c. 22 To be affected with some one of the disorders incidental and usual;--esp. a horned beast. 23 To enter into and form the substance of; to be duly concocted and assimilated;--said of food. 24 To be expended or consumed in or upon;--as money, materials, time. 25 To be required or wanted; to be necessary to the well-being or perfect state of;--a thing in general: also to arise unto;--a want, need, occasion for. 26 To be duly pitched;--the throat or voice, a musical instrument or its tone: also to be set or tuned. 27 To be kindled;--a light or fire: also to be on fire;--as a house or thing. 28 To begin indeed; to enter into full activity or being; to be advanced to the stage at which the main or principal ceremony is under performance;--as a wedding or thread investiture. 29 To stutter, falter, hesitate. In this sense the person, his tongue, or his words may, any one, become the subject of the verb. 30 To begin to work; to get into action or motion;--as an engine, a machine. 31 To work on, in, at; to act in its peculiar manner on its proper subject. Ex. janga cadhala ahe mhanuna caku cangala lagata nahi. 32 To be whetted or sharpened. Ex. ndona caku lagale aheta bakice lavayace aheta. 33 To be fixed or settled upon; to be attached to inseparably or closely. Ex. upajalya pranyasa marana he ṃlagalenca ahe; saṃsarace nkrtya he ṃroja lagalenca ahe. 34 To be applied unto; to be occupied or engaged in. 35 To set in; to take place for continuance;--as rain, cold, heat. 36 To have the intended or natural effect; to answer, take, succeed. 37 To bear upon; to gall, pinch, rub;--as a load, the saddle, the back of a beast: also to receive or sustain galling or abrasion;--the back. 38 To be joined with the female in sexual congress;--used of birds and beasts, and, revilingly, of man. 39 To appertain to; to be the concern, province, proper office or business of. 40 To be arrived at the proper state or stage;--as a she-animal that has begun to yield milk, a tree that has begun to bear fruit. 41 To be; to have some certain condition, quality, or accident.
