The nayaka or Hero is represented generally as an aspirant after or exemplar of yasa, pratapa, dharma, kama, artha &c. i. e. Power, honor, or glory, of Valor or prowess, of Religion or piety, of Pleasure or sensuous gratification, of Riches or wealth &c. See catustaya.
