f (dipavali S A row of lamps.) A festival with nocturnal illuminations, feastings, gambling &c., held during the concluding day of asvina, the day of new moon, and the two first days of karttika (or from narakacaturdasi to yamadvitiya inclusive); in honor of visnu, who, at this season, destroyed the demon naraka: also in propitiation of laksmi. 2 A festival with illuminations held on the 1st of margasirsa; called also thorali or guranci or devaci di0. 3 fig. Luxurious reveling or merrymaking. Pr. asela tya divasi ndi0 nasela tya diva- si ṃsimaga. 4 fig. Overflowing abundance (of good things at a feast). Luxurious reveling or merrymaking. Pr. असेल त्या दिवसीं दि0 नसेल त्या दिव- सीं शिमगा. 4 fig. Overflowing abundance (of good things at a feast). Ex. आज त्याचे घरीं लाड- वाची दि0 झाली. 5 A cucurbitaceous plant which flowers about the month भादवा or आश्विन. Its leaves are medicinal. Called also कडू दोडकी.
