Meaning of 'tutamiti'

f tutamuddata f (tuta Falling short of, miti &c. Broken date or period.) A mode of settling the interest of a loan; viz. calculating the interest upon the principal as it is successively formed by the several deductions of the sums together with the accrued interest paid in from time to time; (loaning upon the rule of) broken periods. v kara, de. Ex. tutamuddata mujara deuna vyaja gheina. The obl. cases, tutamuddatica, tutamuddatine or ntutamitica &c. are in the chief use.
