Meaning of 'tarakankadi'
f (For etymology see tarakankadi, although the common form is this.) A large and long species of kankadi or cucumber, raised on the margin of rivers in the hot season. Popularly affirmed to be the produce of the seed of a tavase enclosed within the pod of a mpadavala whilst on its stock, and taken out on the ripening of the pod and sown.
